Ofoto® is an application from Light Source Computer Images, Inc. that was bundled with older models of Apple's Color OneScanner. It manages the scanning process and allows you to perform various transformations on the scanned image.
The new Appearance Extension introduced with Mac OS 8 changed the system's internal behavior in a subtle way that caused Ofoto's popup menus to break. These popups are critical user interface elements for setting up the parameters of a scan.
OS8foto is a small extension that supplies the behavior that Ofoto expects so that the popups can work again. Although the effect of this extension should be benign across the entire system, it is specifically designed to have no effect except on the Ofoto application itself (just in case :-).
It is important to be certain that this extension loads after the Appearance Extension. I originally wanted to call it just '8foto', but because of this constraint I had to rename it. So it goes...
